It all started with
a Christmas menu.
A few drinks on paper. Family and friends to make them for. And the pleasure of seeing them enjoy what you’ve created.
The beginning
First, the menu.
Then, everything behind it.
At Christmas, I would put together paper cocktail menus for family and friends. Choosing the drinks was part of the enjoyment.
The menu ranged from a Negroni to a Festive Whiskey Sour: bourbon, mulling syrup and lemon juice. A little Christmas spirit on paper.

What we have.
What we could make.
Then came working out how to make everything I’d offered, checking which ingredients we had and deciding what we needed.
TwentyTwo-2 grew out of that experience: a way to keep the recipes, menus and ingredients together, so the preparation became part of the pleasure.
A personal name.
A shared story.
TwentyTwo-2 refers to 22 February—the day Catherine and I first met. It’s an important date for us, and it felt right to give that name to something rooted in the pleasure of bringing people together.
Catherine’s insight and ideas have helped shape TwentyTwo-2 into what it is today. What began with my Christmas menus has become something we’ve created together.

A classic, something modern or one of my own creations—the drink is only part of it. What matters is the moment of sharing it.
That is what I want to share through TwentyTwo-2—and what I’m now exploring with others who love looking after guests.
