From my home bar · Halloween 2026

Five doors.
A little Halloween theatre.

I’m putting together a Halloween evening for my family. This year, the menu is part of the surprise.

An evening taking shape

Something to discover before the first sip.

I love the preparation as much as the making: deciding what to offer, thinking about who’s coming and finding a way to make the evening feel personal.

For Halloween, I’m building a short menu in my own TwentyTwo-2 bar, with different animated artwork for the drinks. Five doors, each with something to discover behind it. A little anticipation before choosing what to drink.

The guest experience

A menu with a sense of occasion.

The idea is to make choosing a drink part of the fun. The artwork gives the menu its Halloween character; the reveal introduces the drink behind it.

I’m using my own bar to explore how that experience comes together. This is a look at the preparations, ahead of the family evening.

Behind the doors

The preparation gives me room to enjoy it.

Before a gathering, I check what I have, choose the drinks and get the ingredients, garnishes and fresh citrus ready. Keeping my recipes, stock and guest menus together gives those plans somewhere to take shape.

That’s what I’m building TwentyTwo-2 around: the pleasure of having a bar of your own, and making something for the people you love to host.

“I want to enjoy the occasion and enjoy being the host.”
